Round C Scenario ReadMe Information 15-July-1998 ========================================================= The mighty gods of war were getting bored. The lands they had already created - and fought over - were organized and full of abundance, making for good battles, but there was something missing. They summoned their scenario wizards and said unto them: it is time for randomness, chaos, and scarcity! We have seen how these Warlords can fight when every creature under the sun is in someone's army, and when every scrap of ground has been engineered for war. But there is a final test we must prepare for these valiant Warlords: we must see how they do when the very earth is in chaos, the ground unpredictable, and their units few and weak. Only in these harshest conditions for war shall we find those who are The Greatest at leading their forces through desperate trials and on to creative and glorious victories! So it was decreed, and so it was done. In the spirited hands of the Scenario Wizard known only as Iceman, a random scenario took shape. Useless lands were drowned with floods, forcing the final battles to be played out in a confined, high-stakes region. Roads, bridges, and ports were added, deleted, and rearranged. The very earth was moved to make room for all the ruins and cities. And in the end, Aerolandia had taken shape. With a final, mighty effort, Aerolandia was converted from Mac-Classic to Mac-Deluxe, and then to PC-Deluxe. At last, War was available! The mighty gods of war were impressed. Yet the work was not yet complete. Another Scenario Wizard, the renowned Bazza, the Lord Amaranth, brought the tools of his craft to bear upon the mighty challenge. Like a painter adding the final brushstrokes that make a great canvas into a true masterpiece, the finishing touches were added slowly, as feedback and rules ideas poured in from the mortals who had been foolish enough to stumble across the world as playtesters. In the end, all were satisfied. It would be a tremendous war! And the gods decreed that the land should be populated by the diverse Warlords of the Tournament, each leading their own unique tribe onwards in its own unique style. Let the chaos of the lands lead to chaotic and valiant struggles, and may the stories of these wars be among the greatest tales ever told! And so it falls to you, Warlord, to wrest victory from the bone-rending jaws of your fierce and ferocious foes. Are you ready for the struggle? ===================================================================== Round C "Aerolandia" Scenario Credits: * Initial Design: Ivan Baird * Final Touches: Ivan Baird, Barry Brook, and Bob Heeter * Playtesting: Many many Warlords, both official and unofficial; for the official lists, see the Aerolandia, Aero2, X03 and X04 game histories on the Remailer. ======================================================================
