Warlords II Scenario Review 1805.ZIP: 136,878 bytes, Europe in 1805 (that was the intent, anyway). 80 cities, 8 players, 40 ruins (including 4 "training camps"). Author: Bill K. Stegkemper. Rating summary, scale of 1 to 10: Wt Area Score Comments 10 Army set 5 (acceptable, mostly copied from Scenario Builder) 7 Map design 2 (this map is truly pitiful) 5 Army pics 5 (acceptable, copied from the Scenario Builder) 5 City pics 7 (good, copied from the Scenario Builder) 3 Background info 1 (none at all, no points) 2 Cities/ruins 1 (names misspelled, no descriptions, random ruins) 2 Items/heroes 3 (acceptable but misspelled items, a few hero names) OVERALL RATING 135 This scenario was supposed to be Europe in 1805. It isn't. It's disorienting to have the map of Europe turned sideways, with Russia north of France and England southeast of Italy, but I could get used to it, if it was a perfect map otherwise. This one is horrible: no roads at all, no signposts, only three little patches of forest, and no *mountains* at all. (Can you believe Switzerland without Alps?) The cities, most of which are spelled correctly, have no descriptions at all, and the ruins are all random fantasy, "inhabited by monsters". The shape of the land resembles the continent of Europe, but that's about all I can say for this map. The only thing that makes this scenario even halfway decent to play is the army set and city set borrowed almost exactly from the Scenario Builder's Europa scenario. If you have the Scenario Builder, play Europa instead. If not, buy it instead of playing this scenario. === This review is copyrighted by myself, but may be distributed in any UNMODIFIED form as long as NO CHARGE is made for distribution (such as a per-minute charge for online time) and it is not included in any copyrighted "compilation" (such as claimed by certain online services I will not name).
